Designed in collaboration with Darran Furniture. The Fion Wingback Lounge is a definitive new interpretation of an archetype that historically has a propensity to be impersonal and masculine in its execution. We designed Fion to break with the typical paradigm within the contract industry of what is expected from the wingback category and create a lounge chair that is nurturing, supportive, and comforting.
The design of Fion goes beyond its whimsical sophistication and pays special attention to the physical. Essential to the design of the Fion Wingback is the feeling of gentle security it provides the guest. The lounge’s plush and sumptuous upholstery and the playful details in the voluminous forms and base architecture make Fion a space creator and a mood setter. The Fion wingback re-defines the wingback archetype with a buoyant fertility with equal parts of the design paying homage to the past and looking to the future through its refined forms and proportions.
